Apache is a web server software. It is developed and maintained by the Apache software foundation. It is open-source software and runs 67% of all web servers in the world. It is fast and secure. Also, it provides flexible conditions to fulfill every development’s requirements. It provides various extensions and modules too. WordPress can be utilized to work with other servers also. But all of the popular hosting service providers use Apache as web server software.

What is a Web Server?

Web server checks for your request and fetches the correct requested page. Web server is also the host for your server. When it finds the web page user request, it servers the page with the requested content.
It handles user communication with the website, handles all the requests and sections.
It receives users’ requests to access a web page. It runs a few security checks on your HTTP request and takes you to the web page. Depending on the page you have requested, the web-page may ask the server to run a few extra modules while generating the document to serve you.

For example,
If you are visiting a restaurant, then the restaurant manager will receive you and show you the right table. And also he will deliver you the ordered food.

The same goes for Web servers. It handles all the requests from the users.
